Speech & Social Groups

Playing Their Way To Greater Enrichment and Development

The playgroup therapy setting naturally fosters communication, peer play, interaction and socialization skills. Speech and developmental therapists who are experts in treating children with mild speech-language delays lead our playgroups. All groups integrate music, language, fine/gross motor and sensory activities. Children are grouped by age and level of development. For groups of children with mild speech-language delays, there is a strong focus on socialization and conversation skills. We use picture communication with groups of non-verbal children to encourage verbalization. These specialized groups are designed to target individual needs, last approximately one hour and run for 6 weeks.
